Bsquet Aurum Ferrol organizes, in collaboration with the Ferrol Council, the first edition of the Cidade de Ferrol veterans’ basketball tournament. It will take place on Saturday, May 4, in the Esteiro pavilion. Twelve teams made up of women over 35 years of age will take part in the competition.
The tournament was presented in the Ferrol City Council, an event in which Carmencha Fernández and María José López, representing the organizing club, and Ricardo Aldrey, the Sports councillor, participated.
It is a tournament organized as a day of fraternization between basketball players, in which the results take a backseat, although there will be a virtual classification, although there will be no podium and all teams will receive the same gift for taking part in this competition.
Carmencha Fernández emphasized that the organizing club, Bsquet Aurum, is playing, for the first time this season, in a veterans’ league and currently occupies second position in its group. He also highlighted the role played in the club by María José López, Carmen Pieiro, Paz Picos and the Sports councilor himself.
The matches will begin to be played at ten in the morning and there will be matches until lunchtime, then matches will be played between four in the afternoon and a quarter past nine at night.
