EL NUEVO DIARIO, SANTO DOMINGO. – The HYL Baseball Academy reported this Friday that several of its prospects for the 2023 class were signed this week.
The academy highlighted that increasingly these generations of baseball prospects “surprise with their natural abilities” and show better qualities and athleticism, in their quest to achieve their dream, a position in the Major Leagues.
It was the directors of HYL Baseball Academy who offered the information in a press release, where they indicated that the organization that values the potential of this new generation must be developed with patience and dedication.
“In the case of our academy, talented young people like center fielder (CF) Oscar Aponte, who was signed this January for a bonus of US$250 thousand by the Arizona Diamondbacks, stands out for highly developed tools such as a good bat, a respectable arm and very good speed in his legs,” highlighted Harold Diplán, co-owner of HYL.
He added that Aponte also has an athletic physique, which will allow him to play the center line for a long time in his career, among other skills.
Meanwhile, the co-owner of HYL, Luis Batista, valued the Shortstop (SS) prospect Juan Monso, also from the Class of 2023, who signed with the Chicago Cubs for a bonus of US$100,000.
“This prospect stands out with very outstanding tools such as excellent defense, impressive range on the field, a good bat and a lot of discipline in the home play, in addition to a powerful arm, among other conditions,” he indicated.
The HYL Baseball Academy, located in the Guerra municipality, in Santo Domingo, also ensures that they can achieve their goal of being professional players, that the prospects mainly have a student scholarship, which guarantees their development in case they for any reason , in the future they will not be able to continue in baseball.
