Florent Muslija Agrees Immediate Transfer to SC Freiburg from SC Paderborn

It was already known that Florent Muslija (25) would be moving to SC Freiburg in the summer at the latest. The Breisgauers have now agreed on an immediate transfer with SC Paderborn.

He will want to erase a statistic as quickly as possible. Florent Muslija has not won a single one of his 17 Bundesliga games so far – a shared Bundesliga record. The 25-year-old has three draws and 14 defeats with Hannover 96 in the 2018/19 relegation season. Only the Mainz talent Brajan Gruda (eight draws, nine defeats) is on par in this unrelated category.

But the first Bundesliga win could now only be a few days or weeks away. On Wednesday evening, after lengthy negotiations, SC Freiburg announced Muslija’s move from SC Paderborn to Breisgau.

“Florent is a versatile offensive player who can play both outside positions as well as in the center,” says sports director Jochen Saier about the commitment. “He has played at a consistently good level for a long time in the second division and is now ready for the next step.”

In fact, seven goals, five assists and a strong kicker grade average of 3.03 from this season speak for Saier’s claim. Muslija was missing from Paderborn’s matchday squad at the weekend, officially due to neck problems.

Paderborn prides itself on having remained consistent

Would it make sense for Toni Kroos to return to the national team?

After Hoffenheim’s loanee Attila Szalai, he is the second winter signing in Breisgau. The Kosovo international is primarily used in left and central midfield and is an excellent set-piece taker.

“We agree with the player, he will move to us in the summer at the latest,” said SC sports director Klemens Hartenbach in an interview with kicker on Sunday. Recently there was a problem with the transfer fee, but it now obviously suited all parties: “We have now really accommodated Paderborn.”

“In the negotiations for a transfer, we consistently followed the internally agreed line. The final negotiated sum for the immediate transfer will noticeably help us with future development in the sporting area,” said Paderborn’s sports director Benjamin Weber in a press release.
