Feyenoord’s Struggle: a Concerning Gap to Leader PSV and Threat from FC Twente

Feyenoord is now looking at a gap of twelve points to leader PSV. Geert den Ouden fears that it could still be a difficult season for the Rotterdam team.

In the meantime, FC Twente is closing in on the Rotterdam team. “I’m worried about Feyenoord,” says Den Ouden FC Rijnmond. “It now happens too often that Feyenoord does not win matches that should be easy to win. And they no longer have that power, like last season. The fact that you know that the ball will fall, that does not happen now.”

Last weekend, Arne Slot’s formation played a disappointing draw at home against NEC. “Feyenoord was so dominant last season, with a 2-0 lead you never thought that victory would be in danger. That is different now,” says Den Ouden, who believes that the match against Vitesse on Sunday is more important than the cup match against PSV. “I think the financial man at Feyenoord would rather have the Champions League entry fee in the bank account. Feyenoord should come second.”
