European Figure Skating Championship: Winners and Highlights

Žinara and Fabri earned a place on the podium at the third European Championship in a row, and they were by far the best in Lithuania, winning first place in both the optional dance on Saturday and having previously been the best in the rhythm dance.

The judges scored Žinaras/Fabri’s choice dance with 127.58 points, which gave them a total of 214.38 points.

Lila Fear/Lewis Gibson Choice Dance

Like a year ago, the British Lila Fear/Lewis Gibson won the silver awards with 210.82 points in total, where 125.62 points were given by the evaluation of the optional dance.

Alison Reed/Saulius Ambruleviča’s optional dance

Lithuanian duo Alisone Rīda/Saulius Ambruļevičs, who won bronze medals in their partner’s hometown, received a huge ovation. For the optional dance, the Lithuanian figure skaters earned 122.64 points and accumulated 203.37 points in total, earning awards at the European Masters for the first time.

After the rhythm dance, Žinara/Fabri took the lead with a slight advantage over Fear/Gibson, while Rida/Ambrulevics came third.

Earlier on Saturday, in the women’s competition, Latvian figure skater Sofja Stepchenko climbed to 13th place after the optional program. The Belgian Lena Hendricks became the European champion.

In the men’s competition, Latvian figure skater Deniss Vasiļjevs finished the European Championship in 6th place on Friday.

The European Championship held in Lithuania for the first time will end on Sunday, January 14, with demonstrations.
