Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra revealed who the European coach has inspired him the most.
Erik Spoelstra, one of the most successful coaches in the NBA, shared the European coach who impressed him the most upon a question at the press conference he attended after the Toronto Raptors match last night:
“Svetislav Pesic. While I was playing in Germany, he was also the manager of ALBA Berlin. We played against his team and I admired him then. “I am still a fan of his and have great respect for him.”
Before starting his coaching career in the NBA, Erik Spoelstra played basketball with TuS Herten in Germany between 1993-95. In those years, Pesic was also the head coach of ALBA Berlin.
Spoelstra recently signed the highest-paid coaching contract in NBA history. The 53-year-old coach will receive a salary of approximately $120 million from the Miami Heat over the next 8 years.
