Edmundston Franchise Confirmed to Participate in Puribec League for 46th Season

The leaders of the Edmundston franchise confirmed to the president of the Puribec League that they will be present for the playball at the start of the 46th season.

In the last four years, Frontière FM has managed to participate in only one season, notably due to the COVID-19 health measures in 2020 and 2021. After a return in 2022, the team’s leaders decided to take a sabbatical year last year.

A new organization has taken over from the old leaders. Alex Jessome will act as president and will be assisted in particular by Michel Desroches as vice-president. Brian Clavette, who worked with the 2019 champion team, is also on the committee as an advisor.

” That’s very good news. We said it in 2022: Edmundston is a city rich in baseball history and it is a source of pride to have them among us,” says President Denis Bérubé.

Seven or eight teams

With the return of Kamouraska and Matane announced in recent weeks, this means that the Puribec Baseball League could count on eight teams next season. There were five in 2023.

The last question mark concerns CIEL-FM in Rivière-du-Loup which had indicated that it needed a little time. The leaders of the circuit and the baseball fans of the region will be decided next Saturday during a meeting of the League to be held in Trois-Pistoles.
