“This is one of many meetings we hold over the course of this relationship. This is held in Milan and is with ERT, the association of presidents and CEOs of the largest European industrial groups. So, today is the industry. And I listen.” Thus the former prime minister and former president of the ECB, Mario Draghi, entering the Milan headquarters of the Bank of Italy where he is about to begin a meeting with the leaders of the ERT (European roundtable for industry). The meeting is part of the work that Draghi is creating the report on the competitiveness of European industry, a document that should indicate to the EU the strategy to compete in the great manufacturing and technological challenge between superpowers, in which the United States and China are investing billions of resources.

The president of ERT, president of the Vodafone group, Jean-Francois van Boxmeer, Dimitri Papalexopoulos, president of Titan Cement Group, Ilham Kadri, CEO of Solvay, Jim Hagemann Snabe, president of Siemens and Jacob were seen entering the Milan headquarters of Bankitalia. Wallenberg, president of Investor AB. Vittorio Colao, former minister for technological innovation and digital transition, was also seen entering Piazzale Edison.
