He Lila Sports Club has been invited by the double Olympic champion and triple world champion, Shohei Ono, that together with his teacher Shinji Hosokawa, Olympic and world champion, to the stage organized in Freiburg (Switzerland) this past weekend. This is a very special invitation since Ono participated in the month of November in a stage organized by the Gran Canaria club. An invitation that the president of the Lila Club, Alfonso Cabralreceived with great joy, as did some of its members, who have attended the Villars-Sur-Glane Judo Club to participate with some 400 judokas in the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Swiss club.
The Canarian judokas shared the tatami with this large group of judokas, practicing one of the sports with the largest number of practitioners worldwide. Furthermore, Cabral highlights that this type of event also reinforces the ties of friendship and fraternity, values that are characteristic of this sporting discipline, to the point that Ono himself has confirmed that he will spend a few days on vacation in Gran Canaria.
This event has also served to plan the third stage that the Cub Lila plans to carry out in the not too distant future, producing satisfactory contacts with the representative of the possible speaker of the aforementioned stage. A surprise that cannot be revealed at the moment, but that will surely lead to another of the great sporting events to which our Gran Canaria club has accustomed us.
As it could not be otherwise, international contacts give rise to the strengthening of relationships, not only sporting, but also personal, which contribute, without a doubt, to the improvement of the level of the thousands of Canarian judokas, and that thanks to Members such as those of the Lila Club, work to ensure that the level of this discipline reaches the highest and best levels possible for our athletes at all levels.
