Does diet or training matter more? |

???? DOES DIET OR TRAINING MATTER MORE TO REDUCE visceral fat? The answer? As always, science offers it to us.

???? With physical exercise, fat loss occurs through an increase in energy expenditure, with caloric restriction through a decrease in energy intake. Let’s try to understand each other more.

???? In a review (Recchia F. et al. 2023) data were collected from 40 studies involving 2190 individuals. While both exercise and calorie restriction effectively reduced visceral fat, only exercise demonstrated a dose-response relationship, highlighting that increasing amounts of exercise result in greater visceral fat loss. The effect of caloric restriction, however, was not dose-dependent, i.e. greater caloric deficits do not translate into greater loss of visceral fat.

???????? There’s more. A loss of body weight through diet alone also leads to a loss of muscle, which would reduce the basal metabolic rate. On the contrary, it can be achieved by preserving muscle mass if induced by exercise.

????????????️ It goes without saying that the combination of physical exercise and adequate nutrition is the most effective strategy for losing weight by reducing visceral fat (the most dangerous for health). Muscles are organs of healthy longevity. Let’s keep them lit ????
