Coco Gauff wins the Auckland tournament again

Coco Gauff held on to beat Elina Svitolina (6-7 [4]6-3, 6-3) in the final, Sunday, and win for the second year in a row the WTA 250 tournament in Auckland (New Zealand), a week before the Australian Open.

The American player, 19 years old, world number 3 and seeded number 1 in the tournament, won the seventh title of her career in 2h35. Before the final, Gauff had not conceded a single set. And, last year, she finished the tournament without losing a single round.

Svitolina, seeded No. 2 in Auckland and ranked 25th at the WTA, was uncertain for a while, after back and ankle pain, in the semi-finals on Saturday.
