Christmas School Program in Full Swing at Three Pozuelo Schools

EDITORIAL – One of the programs in progress is the Christmas School, which takes place in three schools in the city: Las Acacias, Príncipes de Asturias and Asunción de Nuestra Señora, with the participation of more than 200 children. The theme of this edition focuses on Christmas, under the name ‘Ho, Ho, Ho, Christmas is coming!’, with workshops and activities taught mainly in English.

The mayor, Paloma Tejero, together with the Councilor for Education and Conciliation, Almudena Ruiz, visited the children at the Las Acacias school. During the visit, the mayor observed the little ones, ages 3 to 5, participating in a creative snowman workshop. The theme of the workshop involved the use of cotton pads and cardboard to create the figures.

Later, Tejero showed interest in the activities of older children who, at that time, were participating in sports games such as human foosball (ages 6 to 9) or badminton (ages 9 to 12).

The mayor shared a moment of chat with the children to learn about the development of the days. In gratitude for her visit, the students gave Tejero a gift they created during one of the workshops.

The Christmas School is part of the ‘Holidays in English’ program, which the City Council offers in schools during the holiday periods, joining the ‘Easter School’ and ‘Summer School’. This offer is complemented by inclusive urban camps at the Espacio Ocio Pozuelo, aimed at people with and without disabilities, as well as sports camps that take place in summer at municipal sports centers.
