Chinese Teenager Juncheng Shang Makes Waves at Hong Kong ATP 250 Tournament

Teenager Juncheng Shang continues his dream run at the ATP 250 tournament in Hong Kong and defeated the American Frances Tiafoe a former top 10 player in two sets.

The Chinese Juncheng Shang continues to cause a sensation in Hong Kong.

Although the Chinese Jungsheng Shang lives in the USA and trains at the IMG Academy in Florida, the 18-year-old immediately seems to feel comfortable at the ATP 250 tournament in Hong Kong. As a wildcard starter, the former junior world number one made it to the quarter-finals, where he met the American Frances Tiafoe.

Shang also tackled the task fearlessly against the former top 10 player. After he earned a total of five break points in the third game but was unable to use them, he managed the break in the fifth game with his sixth opportunity. Without giving himself a chance, he secured the first round with confident service games.

There was no sign of the teenager slowing down in the second round either. He also managed the decisive break in the fifth game, which he safely carried to a 6:4, 6:4 win after 89 minutes.

Rublev defeats Fils

Top seed Andrey Rublev also had to deal with a teenager, Arthur Fils.
