Champions Trophy: the Parc des Princes is sold out for PSG – Toulouse

Calls for a boycott from Parisian and then Toulouse ultras will not be enough to leave empty seats at the Parc des Princes this Wednesday for the Champions Trophy between PSG and Toulouse. According to our information, the meeting will be sold out. A first success for the Professional Football League (LFP) which organized the match. Between the weekday date, the difficulty of finding a place to host the event and the controversy over the price of tickets, there was no shortage of problems around this meeting.

But ultimately, the Parc des Princes will be full. It must be said that this is the first time since 2008 that this prestigious match has been played in front of a French audience. Certainly, in 2020, the PSG-OM match was played in Lens but, due to Covid, the meeting was played behind closed doors.

It will nevertheless be without the CUP ultras on the PSG side and the Indians on the Toulouse side who have decided to boycott the match. According to a CUP press release, the “tariffs imposed by the LFP” were “unacceptable” and “go against the defense of our values and popular football”. The sesames were put on sale at the price of 25 euros excluding fees, 28 when validating the basket. “For the record, visitor tickets cost 18.50 euros for the Champions League match in Dortmund,” also recalled the CUP. Four days after the CUP, the Tolosa Indians, the main ultra group at the Toulouse Stadium, also announced their boycott. Both to protest against the price of tickets but also because, according to them, sporting fairness was not respected with the choice of the Park which allows PSG to play at home.
