CESANA TORINESE – Cesana Torinese will be the capital of Archery for two weeks.
The 2023 European Archery Championships begin on Monday 18 September. More precisely, the European Field Shooting Championships (Field) will take place from 18 to 23 September 2023 and the 3D European Championships will take place from 25 to 30 September.
Mayor Roberto Vaglio expresses the Municipal Administration’s satisfaction and welcomes the archers and spectators: “For Cesana it is truly an honor to host a summer sporting event of this magnitude. In these two weeks our country will be the European Capital of Archery and we want to give the warmest welcome to athletes, Federations and the public who will follow the event. Cesana will be the heart of the event in terms of welcoming the participating nations, while the races will take place at the Olympic Center and in Sansicario Alto, which for the occasion becomes the beating heart of the double continental event”.
A double large-scale event which involves the arrival in Cesana of over 200 archers from 27 European national teams for the Country Shooting and over 200 archers representing 22 national teams for the 3D.
Two weeks of competitions that will end with the finals that will award the 36 European titles for 2023: 22 for Country Shooting and 14 for 3D.

EUROPEAN COUNTRYSIDE SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIPS (FIELD)
The Arco Field delegations are expected to arrive on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September with unofficial test shots and accreditation.
Monday 18 September official test shoots and equipment checks, meeting of the Team Captains and the Inauguration Ceremony.
Tuesday 19 September first day of qualification with 24 unknown targets, Wednesday 20 September second day of qualification again with 24 known targets.
Thursday 21 September individual preliminaries, Junior semi-finals and Junior Bronze Finals.
Friday 22 September Team and Mixed Team preliminaries and Team and Mixed Team finals.
Saturday 23 September individual semi-finals and individual finals with awards ceremony and closing of the event.
3D EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
Arrival of the national teams on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September with unofficial test shoots and accreditation.
Monday 25 September official test shoots and equipment checks, meeting of the Team Captains and the Opening Ceremony.
Tuesday 26 September first day of qualification with 24 unknown targets, Wednesday 27 September second day of qualification with 24 known targets
Individual preliminaries on Thursday 28 September.
Friday 29 September Team and Mixed Team preliminaries and Team and Mixed Team finals.
Saturday 30 September individual semi-finals and individual finals with awards ceremony and closing of the event
THE AZZURRI IN THE COMPETITION
In total there will be 24 Italian archers competing, in the Olympic period they were called up by the sector manager Giorgio Botto, Massimiliano Mandia (Fiamme Azzurre), and the Air Force couple Marco Morello and Federico Musolesi, together with them in the women’s competition they will be Sara Noceti (Arcieri Tigullio), Chiara Rebagliati and Aiko Rolando, both from Fiamme Oro. Among the Juniors there is space for Matteo Borsani (Arcieri del Roccolo) and Roberta Di Francesco (Arcieri Abruzzesi).
In the compound the choice fell on Marco Bruno (Fiamme Azzurre), Fabio Ibba (Arcieri Del Torrazzo), Michea Godano (Arcieri Tigullio), Francesca Aloisi (Iuvenilia), Irene Franchini (Fiamme Azzurre) and Sara Ret (Arcieri Cormons). In the Junior class, Fabrizio Aloisi (Iuvenilia) and Martina Del Duca (Arcieri Uras) are called up.
In the competition there will also be bare bow with Eric Esposito (Comp.arc.diMalpaga Bartolomeo Colleoni Bergamo), Giuseppe Seimandi (Fiamme Azzurre), Luca Stelluto (Arcieri Club Napoli), Livia Fabris (Arcieri Orione), Giulia Mantilli (Arcieri Romani ) and Cinzia Noziglia (Fiamme Oro). Among the Juniors there will be Matteo Seghetta (Comp.arc.barbacane Citta’ Pieve) and Rania Braccini (Compagnia Arcieri Lucca)
