Carlos Zegarra Presser Appointed as Executive Director of Special Legacy Project: New Responsibilities and Career Highlights

The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) appointed Carlos Zegarra Presser as the new Executive Director of the Special Legacy Project; entity in charge of maintaining the infrastructure and measures derived from the holding of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.

His designation was made official through ministerial resolution 017-2024-PCM, published today in the legal regulations section of the Official Gazette El Peruano.

In this same resolution, the resignation of Álvaro Castro Guzmán from the aforementioned position is accepted. In that sense, we thank you for the services provided in this regard.

Zegarra’s career

Carlos Zegarra Presser is a Pan American medalist in judo. He also competed in this discipline at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and was sports director of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

Likewise, he served as president of the Peruvian Judo Sports Federation and national director of recreation and sports promotion of the Peruvian Sports Institute. Likewise, he was head of the National Anti-Doping Commission of Peru.

In 2015 he was elected sports director of the Pan American Judo Confederation and in 2021 he was president of said entity.
