Caribbean Series Playoff Update: Tatis’s Los Verdes Tied with Tigres, Miami Event Approaches

The day before, Fernando Tatis’s Los Verdes won 4-3 as visitors at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal stadium and tied the final playoff at three wins per side with Tigres who boast a long record in the history of the league.

The felines are precisely the current monarchs of the Caribbean event that begins next February 1st in Miami, United States, and where five teams from the area have already secured their stay, of the seven that will be present in this 66th edition.

The other ticket that remains in dispute could be awarded this Saturday in the Venezuelan Professional League, if the Tiburones de La Guaira – undefeated in three challenges – defeat the Cardenales de Lara.

On Friday, the Federales de Chiriquí reached the Caribbean Series for the second consecutive time by sweeping the Águilas Metropolitanas, in a match held at the Justino Salinas stadium in La Chorrera.

The Criollos de Caguas (Roberto Clemente Professional League of Puerto Rico), the Naranjeros de Hermosillo (Mexican Pacific League) and the Curacao Suns (Curacao Professional Baseball) were already guaranteed a seat in “The City of the Sun.”

Nicaragua, which will attend these matches for the first time, will be represented by a national team and not by the Gigantes de Rivas, owners of its professional league.

Miami will host the tournament for the third time in history and all games will be played at the home of the Marlins (Loan Depot Park), the American Major League team.
