Borussia Dortmund defeated SV Darmstadt 2-0 on matchday 17 of the German Bundesliga.
Dortmund take the lead in the 24th minute: Darmstadt is not persistent enough in the duels, Bynoe-Gittens marches towards the goal on the right side, plays the ball perfectly into the path of Brandt, who scores the goal to make it 1-0 for BVB . The Black and Yellows take this lead into the break – but it’s by no means a brilliant performance up to this point.
After 55 minutes, Jadon Sancho makes his big comeback for Borussia after two and a half years – and what a comeback! It took just under 22 minutes before it was Sancho who crossed to his good friend Reus and thus made it 2-0 (77th).
Moukoko ensures the final point after an assist from Sabitzer in stoppage time (90th + 2). New signing Maatsen also cuts a good figure on his debut for BVB.
With the three points won, Dortmund climbed up to fifth place with 30 points. Darmstadt remains at the bottom with ten points.
