We tried Black Diamond’s Alpine Start Insulated Hoody jacket during a mountain trip in Altro Adige, where we encountered snow, wind, rain and sunny days with temperatures that varied from -8° to +12°. Between 1400 and 2400 meters above sea level.
We used it in several activities: trekking in the snow combined with a shell; cross country skiing; low altitude walks.
We found it really comfortable, well designed and above all capable of maintaining the temperature despite its lightness. Elasticated cuffs and hood (helmet compatible) are solutions from the simple to the most effective.
