The Big Mat BSC Grosseto purchasing campaign starts with a bang: the company of president Massimo Ceciarini adds the utility to its staff Andrea Sellaroli and the pitcher Federico Pecci. The two players, who come from Nettuno 1945, join the red and white team, led by manager Stefano Cappuccini and coaches Antonio Momi, Lino Luciani, Angel Marquez and Alessandro Cappuccini.

«We are setting up – underlines Roberto Piccioli, vice president of Big Mat Bsc Grosseto – an excellent roster. The arrivals of Sellaroli and Pecci increase the team’s experience, raise the quality level of performances and will facilitate the growth of our young people. We are convinced that they will be two fundamental players for the 2024 season and that they will be able to repeat, if not even improve, their personal performances compared to last year.”

Federico Pecci, right-handed pitcher, born in 1997, made his debut in the top Italian league at just sixteen years old. His best season was 2022 with a record of 7 wins-2 losses and a 2.14 average; in 2023 he finished at 5-1 and 3.61 mpgl. Pecci adds further depth to an Italian pitching mound, which already includes the national players Sireus, Artitzu and the closer Mega, allowing manager Cappuccini to optimize the rotation of pitchers.

The utility player Andrea Sellaroli, born in 1997, boasts seven appearances with the national team, with which he played the 2021 European Championships in Piedmont. Furthermore, in 2015 he won the European under 18 championship and also played in the World Cup in Japan. Sellaroli debuted, like Pecci, at the age of sixteen in the Italian baseball league and in 2023 with the Nettuno shirt he batted 341, with 30 runs scored at home.
