Beatriz Haddad Maia passes asics

Tennis player Beatriz Haddad Maia changes sponsor and moves from Joma to Asics.

This is the first major change in apparel sponsors in the new year among WTA tennis players. The world number 11 has signed a multi-year deal with the Japanese-backed company founded by Kihachiro Onitsuka.

The Brazilian player said: “I am thrilled to join Asics, a brand that has long had a positive reputation for taking care of its athletes on and off the pitch. As soon as I tried the Gel-Resolution 9, I knew that it was the right tennis shoe for me in terms of support, stability and comfort. Asics is obviously known for cutting-edge tennis shoes and apparel, but they are equally committed to supporting their athletes off the court. The beginning of 2024 gives me confidence to focus fully on my game in what will be an exciting year.”

At this month’s United Cup, Haddad Maia wore Joma gear, but started wearing Asics at this week’s Adelaide International. The Brazilian wore the Asics Fall Match tank top and the Asics Fall Match skirt, from last year’s collection, although new outfits have been launched for the 2024 Australian Open.
