It was the surprise this weekend: Alix Collombon and Lorena Rufo separated and won’t play together on the Premier Padel this season. This information is all the more surprising given thatAlix Collombon had delivered, during the N1 2023 interclubs, wanting to continue the adventure with the young Spanish player.
We asked the Lyonnaise about this separation. As well as on top the identity of his future partnere.
A decision on the part of the Spaniard
“It’s not my decision, it was Lorena who decided to end our association. To be honest, I also asked questions at the end of the season. Even if my basic idea was to give us time et to improve which didn’t work at the end of the season.
Her decision, I totally respect her. I have no problem with her, it’s part of padel.”
Convincing beginnings and disillusionments
“Our association had worked very well in Roland. It boded very good things and that’s what we hoped for. Afterwards, it got more complicated, we had draws that were not easy to be honest.
We lost a few matches, we lost confidence. It was hard afterwards to give our best version of the team. It’s as if we hadn’t managed to find the mayonnaise that had taken Roland so well.”
The future partner already known?
“I already know who I’m going to play with this season and I will announce it soon. Probably in the next few days in fact.
My new partner, what I can already say about her is that she has a grosse grit and one big physique. She is a player with whom I get along very well for a while now I am excited to begin this association !”
