Adesa 80 Club Hosts Annual Christmas Memorials with Andalusian Basketball Powerhouses

Yesterday, Wednesday, the covered pavilion of the Municipal Sports Center hosted its traditional men’s and women’s mini-basketball Christmas memorials, organized every year by the Adesa 80 Basketball Club with the collaboration of the Municipal Sports Delegation of the Sanlúcar City Council, the Provincial Council of Cádiz and the Federation of Andalusian Basketball.

The Adesa 80 Club, which brings together more than 250 federated players, in this way paid tribute to the figures of outstanding personalities for the entity, such as Antonio del Moral and Luis Jiménez or María Ángeles García Ruiz, Gelen, in the female category.

Leading teams on the Andalusian panorama, which are key in the Andalusian basketball championships, occupying the first positions, such as CB Ciudad de Dos Hermanas, CAB Estepona (Málaga), CD Cordobasket (Córdoba), CB Alius (Huelva), CB Estepona and CD Ciudad de Córdoba faced the Adesa 80 teams during the day in the men’s and women’s mini children’s categories.

In the case of the XIII Antonio del Moral and Luis Jiménez Memorial, it was the Estepona Basketball Club that won, while in the XIV María Ángeles García Ruiz ‘Gelen’ Memorial, the winner was the Cordobasket women’s mini-basketball team.

For the president of the club, Manuel Rodríguez, the appointment was “very important.” “We try to get our teams in contact for possible classifications for the Andalusian Championship, a quite interesting test, with leading teams from Andalusia that, year after year, participate either in Sanlúcar or in another city in this championship. And, at the same time, we pay tribute to very dear people in our club, who, as you know, died and who gave everything for Adesa.”

The municipal delegate of Sports, Víctor Mora, attended this sporting event together with the president of Adesa 80, Manuel Rodríguez, highlighting the recognition in these memorials “of these people who gave so much for Sanlúcar and for the Adesa 80 club.” Furthermore, the municipal Sports Manager highlighted the collaboration of the Board of Trustees in these memorials “because we understand that it is a good way to promote sports in Sanlúcar by bringing clubs from other cities, which will have an impact on bars, restaurants and businesses benefiting from the visit of these clubs and their families.”

Víctor Mora stressed the commitment to Sanluqueño sport that is being carried out by the Sports Delegation with the improvement of sports facilities, among which the covered pavilion of the Municipal Sports Center stood out, in which 200,000 euros will be invested for the replacement. of the parquet “to continue betting on sport in Sanlúcar, which is what we are going to continue working on from the delegation.”

In fact, the visit yesterday by the Sports delegate served to coordinate with the Adesa 80 club the start date of these works, with the idea that they affect the training of the different teams as little as possible, and that the improvements that to be carried out are completed before June 22, when the Andalusian Basketball Championship will take place, based again in our town.
