So, the referee showed the card to the player and he reacted badly, protesting and pointing his finger at him. As a result of these events, the referee decided to show him the second yellow and, therefore, the red one which meant the expulsion. As reported by the member of staff, it was at this moment that the player grabbed him by the head with his hands he hit her on the forehead and then a second one, which left him starving. The second hit gave him one severe bruise on the nose. As a result of the aggression, the referee ended up falling to the ground.

At that time, in addition, a coach of the local team – who was sanctioned for previous events and was in the stands – tried to make him stand up so that he could continue judging the game but the referee decided to suspend him . Later, players from CF les Preses B they helped him and took him to the dressing room, where he called 112 for them to come Mossos d’Esquadra. The aggressor, however, when the Mossos arrived, as also confirmed by the police force, had already left the field.

The referee informed the police who his alleged assailant was and he was treated at a medical center for his injuries. The Mossos, since it is a case of minor injuries and having identified the alleged aggressor, will send the case to the corresponding Olot court. The vice-president and delegate in Girona, Jordi Bonet, of the FCF explained to Diari de Girona that “from the Federation we always condemn any act of violence in football and this has been transmitted to the parties involved”. “We have spoken to Maià and told him that this cannot be. Of course, we always condemn any violent act on any football field. I, personally, have spoken to the secretary, who is the person on the Committee, so that the penalty is exemplary within the regulations”, he added.
