Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Michael Smith, Nathan Aspinall, Gerwyn Price, Rob Cross, Peter Wright and also the surprise of this year’s World Championship, 16-year-old Luke Littler, have been nominated for this year’s Premier League of Darts.
The top four players on the PDC Order of Merit are qualified for this tournament, which is divided into 16 playing nights and one final night.
Fresh number one and World Championship winner Luke Humphries, for whom this will be his first full-fledged participation, had a certain place. Second place in the ranking currently belongs to Michael van Gerwen, who won last year’s Premier League, and third place to last year’s world champion Michael Smith. The last place was taken by the comet of the last days Luke Littler. Despite his young age, he will get a chance to compete with the best in this tournament, although darts players are usually invited for their merits. Littler, 16, is ranked as low as 31st, but made it to the finals at the World Championships.
