2024 NBA All-Star Game: Selection Process and Starting Players Revealed

The starting players for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game were selected by fans, current NBA players and a panel of media. Fans accounted for 50% of the votes to determine the starters, while players and media accounted for 25% each.

After all votes were tallied, players were ranked in each conference by position (guard and frontcourt) within each of the three voting groups. Each player’s score was calculated by averaging votes from fans, players and the media. The two guards and three top-scoring frontcourt players in each conference were named starters in the NBA All-Star Game.

Each player’s score was weighted by 50% fan vote, 25% player vote and 25% media vote. The formula for determining a player’s rating is (Fan Rank * 2 + Player Rank + Media Rank)/4.

Fan votes served as a tie-breaker for players from a position group with the same score. Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks won the playoff with Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks for the second starting spot in the Eastern Conference group of guards.
