The Xàtiva Badminton Club participated last Saturday, December 23, in the fourth territorial concentration of the Champion Wanted programheld at the Sports Technology Center (CTD) from Alicantewhere they went four athletes from the Setabe club. The event brought together 31 athletes from ten clubs in the Valencian Community, among them the Setabeans Feliu Terol, Arnau Ballester, Alexis Piñero and Adrià Meseguer, accompanied by technicians. Finally, Martina Molina, from CB Xàtiva, was unable to attend the concentration, she was out at the last minute due to illness.
The day was directed by Mª Jesús Almagro, territorial coordinator of the project in the Valencian Community, in a concentration that began at 10 a.m. and ended around 1 p.m., and which also served for the club technicians and the coordinator to define the lines of action for the 2024 season.
David Polop, champion at the University of Valencia
Badminton Xàtiva has also stood out in the Internal Championship Christmas Trophy of the University of Valencia, held on December 21, and in which David Polop from Setaba was proclaimed champion. The competition brought together UV students who practice badminton at the V-Cancha Sur Aulario facilities, where the individual competition was held among those in attendance. Polop, who competed in this competition, was proclaimed champion of the individual event.
Parabadminton Campus
Besides, Badminton athlete Xàtiva Selenia Pla Mompó is participating in the Parabadminton Technical Campus. This week, from December 26 to 30, it is celebrated at the facilities of the Rafael del Pino Sports Complex from Toledo, the Parabadminton Campus, attended by the most prominent athletes of the modality on the national scene, and among them is Selenia Pla from Selenia Pla. This concentration is carried out to continue working on the technical and tactical improvement of the athletes of the Spanish National Team and those who are being monitored by the technical staff of the Spanish Badminton Federation.
