The program of the “White Night of Sport” appears rich, which will take place on Wednesday in the pedestrian area of viale San Martino and via XXVII Luglio. In the presence of the mayor of Messina Federico Basile, the initiative was presented by the councilor for youth policies Liana Cannata, by the mayor’s expert for sports policies Francesco Giorgio and by the president of Messina Social City Valeria Asquini. The event will start at 5.00 pm and last until 10.30 pm. “This end-of-year event – declared Basile – is of particular importance as the municipal administration dedicates great attention to sport. It is also a fundamental component for health and well-being and, precisely through sports practice, the quality of life is improved and problems of various kinds are prevented.”

Giorgio thanked the numerous federations, promotional bodies and associations, both Olympic and Paralympic, which will take part in the event. In total there will be 48 disciplines: martial arts, athletics, physical activity for people with disabilities, motoring, badminton, baseball, basketball and mini-basketball, boxing, women’s football, table football, paralympic table football, rowing/rowing, cycling, dance, fitness , artistic gymnastics, military dynamic gymnastics, OCR gymnastics (obstacle course race), grappling, hockey, inline hockey, indoboard, judo, karate, mma, motorcycling, mountain biking, muay thai, orienteering, padel, pickleball, volleyball, in-line skating line/freestyle, pole fishing, weight lifting, powerlifting, rugby, chess, showdown, roller skiing, airsoft, softball, step, street workout, table soccer, tennis, sailing and windsurfing. Furthermore, the “The Best Coach” award will be presented, organized by the Aiac (Italian Football Coaches Association).
