Vlhova tames Shiffrin in Courchevel night slalom

Imperial during the second round this Thursday, the Slovak ahead of the American, who remains at the top of the general classification of the World Cup.

The Slovakian Petra Vlhova won the Courchevel slalom on Thursday night, counting for the Alpine Skiing World Cup, gaining the upper hand over her rival, the American Mikaela Shiffrin, at the cost of a second fiery round.

The Slovak, who signed her 30th World Cup victory, started 17 hundredths behind the American, best time of the first round. She took back 41 hundredths of a second on the second route.

The Austrian Katharina Truppe finished in third place, more than two seconds behind, a gulf.

Shiffrin, a five-time winner of the big crystal globe, remains at the top of the overall World Cup rankings.
