Unbreakable: A Comprehensive Look at Tesla’s Cybertruck Specs and Features

Tesla has finally delivered the first ones Cybertruck (twelve), and we, as the lucky buyers, can finally learn about them specifications e prezzo (by the way, do you know the differences between wallboxes and charging stations?).

Let’s start with important featuresbecause during the grandiose launch event of electric vehicle (and “utility vehicle“) Musk, microphone in hand, monopolized the attention of bystanders (read also: how to recharge an electric car for free at charging stations).

The glass it is unbreakablebut, mindful of the disaster four years ago, this time one was used baseball (thrown with little force), not a hammer Musk said – laughing – that if you had to collide with another car you will “win” (yes, he said exactly that, minute 7:58) If you were to find yourself in a shootout against Al Capone (minute 8:39), you can actually hide behind a door, which is bulletproof
The most powerful model is called CyberBeast and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds

Now we can talk about the specifications of the vehicle, but that will probably interest you less.

The Cybertruck will be sold in three versions: Rear-wheel Drive (single engine, from 2025), Four-wheel drive (with two engines) e CyberBeast (with three engines).

The vehicle with single engine it will offer a range of 402 km, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, a top speed of 180 km/h and a towing capacity of 3,402 kg.

The version with two engines pass to 547 km of autonomy (755 km with optimizer), sprint in 4.3 seconds, maximum speed of 180 km/h and towing capacity of 4,990 kg, while the one with three engines it has 515 km of autonomy (705 km with optimizer), sprint in 2.7 seconds and maximum speed of 209 km/h (same towing capacity).

The maximum charge is a 250 kWand allows you to get up to 206 km in 15 minutes, while the batteries have an 8 year / 240,000 km warranty.

The batteries should be the 4680, but designed specifically for Cybertruck and should have an energy density 10% higher than the current ones, but the autonomy is not exactly the same promise at first, although it’s not clear what it is that optimizer indicated in the specifications.

Il weight is in the order of 3 tons (3,104 kg for the three engines and 2,995 for the two), while the dimensions they are 5,682.9 mm long, 2,200.7 mm (with mirrors folded) wide and 1,790.8 mm high.

Inside of, you will find a single central touch screen 18.5-inch, a 9.4-inch rear touchscreen, the “yoke” steering wheel, HEPA filters against “biological weapons” (Musk really likes to use rhetorical figures related to weapons and war), “sublime” audio with 15 speakers, 2 dedicated subwoofers and 2 amplifiers, and wireless charging mat, as well as USB-C sockets from 65 W and 120V/240V integrated into the floor and passenger compartment.

This is an important point, because the vehicle will offer V2L technology, vehicle-to-load (not to be confused with vehicle-to-grid, V2G), i.e. bidirectional charging.

This solution, called by Tesla Powershare, allows the Cybertruck to deliver well 11,5 kW of power (more than competing vehicles), enough to charge a Model Y or even a entire house.

Tesla allows vehicle owners to control the feature through its app, but a Tesla Powerwall and wall connector will be required for a smoother connection.

Other features of the Cybertruck are the absence of paint, so it should not be possible to scratch it (but it can be “wrapped” with the films sold and applied by Tesla), the ultra-resistant exoskeleton and accessories, such as the camping kit.

Let’s move on to the chapter prices, much higher than those promised four years ago. In 2019 there was talk of a starting price of 39,900 dollars, now we start from $60,990 for the rear-wheel drive model, which will arrive in 2025, to upgrade to the all-wheel drive model from $79,990while the one with three engines will cost $99,990.

During the rather short event, Tesla’s chief designer Franz von Holzhausen he tested the glass again, but as we said by weakly throwing a baseball, then he moved on to deliveries.

Speaking of this, the mass production won’t start for 18 months, so it’s not expected to become profitable immediately. Nonetheless, even taking into account the prezzo of higher sales and fierce competition from Ford and Rivian, the polarizing design will likely make it a successful car, at least in the United States where the industry has moved towards ever-larger cars. And Musk wanted to underline the capabilities in the presentation videos related to work of the vehicle.

If you’re wondering what it will happen to usit seems that a Cybertruck smaller for Europe, but nothing is decided yet, so you will have to settle for the new page on the Tesla website.
