The San Silvestre LPGC solidarity race enters its final registration stretch

The most iconic popular race of The Gran Canarian palmsthe San Silvestre LPGC, enters the final stretch of registrations, which will close on Sunday, December 24. This annual solidarity event is already finalizing details to bring together its thousands of runners in the streets of the city, to flood the capital of Gran Canaria with sport, excitement, reunion and solidarity.

The San Silvestre LPGC race enters its final push for online registration and in-person registration in the MacroFit gym network, and it already has a date to start distributing its new runner’s ‘box’. This ‘box’, with the number, the shirt and many surprises, will be delivered on December 27, 28, 29 and 30, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the parking lot attached to the Gran Canaria Stadium, and on the 26th from 11 a.m. to 20 hours in the Ateneo Municipal de Vecindario Hall for residents in the southern zone.

Starting at 4 p.m. on December 31, this solidarity event will start with the children’s race, a prelude to the massive general solidarity race that will dress the city in yellow starting at 5 p.m. In this edition, the San Silvestre LPGC repeats its successful route from the last edition, with its circuit with start and finish in front of Parque Doramas, on León y Castillo street, near the Metropole, as is tradition. The thousands of solidarity runners will take the streets towards the Julio Luengo tunnel, to reach the roundabout and head towards Avenida Marítima in a South-North direction to San Telmo Park.

The San Silvestre LPGC is one of the few opportunities to run along the Avenida Marítima of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a route that is in charge of the thousands of athletes that day, undisputed protagonists of this endearing end of the year.

Once past the bus station, the great wave of solidarity will turn onto Rafael Cabrera Street to Munguía and will take over Francisco Gurié Street to paint the city with sports.

With the challenge of reaching a donation of 100,000 euros to make the social projects of 5 NGOs in the Canary Islands a reality, the San Silvestre LPGC returns in 2023 with several new features, launching for the first time in its history the Gold Drawer, where the winners and winners of previous editions along with athletics stars, who will set the most demanding sporting pace with the challenge of completing the circuit in less than 4 minutes per kilometer.

This edition will be one of the ones that will have the most pets, which will go out in their box with their owners to run the most inclusive San Silvestre. In addition, this edition will be the most sustainable, with a convertible and reusable number, a 100% recyclable runner’s box, a t-shirt made with recycled materials and the trophies made by the local company Precious Plastic Gran Canaria, which will be completely made with recovered materials such as caps, containers, markers, metals and pallet wood.

The San Silvestre LPGC, organized by Top Time Eventos with the collaboration of the Trican Club, is promoted by the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Municipal Sports Institute, the Gran Canaria Cabildo, the insular Sports Institute with the Gran Canaria program Canaria European Island of Sports, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Islas Canarias and Canarias Avanza con Europa brand, and the collaboration of CajaSiete, MacroFit, HPS, Physiorelax, Gofio La Piña, Peñascal, and Pascual.
