After the 6:2 win the previous evening, the Untouchables Paderborn also retained the upper hand with 6:1 in the second duel on Sunday afternoon against the Wild Farmers from Dohren. From his point of view, Paderborn’s ace pitcher Roldan Ochoa celebrated a pleasant reunion with the Lower Saxony team, for whom he had previously played successfully for two years. The Venezuelan native completed six strong innings against his former club, giving up just one run, three hits and recording five strikeouts.
Dohren was only allowed to celebrate once that day: in the second inning, Isaias Montero scored to make it 1-1 after a hit from Alejandro Gomez. After that, it was only Paderborn’s batting formation that set the tone, mercilessly exploiting some of the visitors’ defensive mistakes. Paderborn’s Christiaan Beyers marked the final point to make it 6:1 in the eighth period with his second RBI single. Dohren’s pitcher Ivan Alvarez had to accept the loss despite having eleven strikeouts in seven innings.
