The Naturalization Process of Indonesian National Team Players: Latest Updates and Rumors

TRIBUNNEWS.COM – The two naturalized players for the Indonesian National Team who are being processed by PSSI are Jay Idzes and Nathan Tjoe-A-On.

The naturalization process for both of them has entered the DPR-RI approval table, before being submitted to President Joko Widodo until they take the oath to become Indonesian citizens.

While this process is still ongoing, there are now rumors that one more player will be naturalized by PSSI (a total of 3).

He is a defender belonging to FC Copenhagen from the Danish League, namely, Kevin Diks.

The Maluku-blooded player was seen flying to Jakarta in the midst of busy international competition.

As a result, Kevin Diks’ arrival was strongly linked to the naturalization process for the Indonesian National Team.

However, through a statement by the General Chairperson (Ketum) of PSSI, Erick Thohir, he indicated that Kevin Diks had not yet entered the naturalization process for the Indonesian National Team.

The BUMN Minister continued to hope for other players, namely, Ragnar Oratmangoen.

“Not yet (when asked about Kevin Diks’ naturalization process -ed),” said Erick Thohir via Instagram reels post, Saturday (16/12/2023).

“But hopefully Ragnar Oratmangoen,” continued the PSSI chairman.

“He is a winger and can play as a striker.”

It is known that Ragnar Oratmangoen met Erick Thohir in early November (2023) last month.

This meeting does not immediately start the naturalization process. However, it is only a dialogue between the two camps regarding whether they are interested in becoming part of the Indonesian National Team.
