FIRST QUARTER
First triple for Milan, but Virtus responds with those from Cordinier, Belinelli and Hackett for 7-11 after 4′. Shields from a standstill for 12-13 at 5.06, Belinelli in a twist for 14-18 at 2.47 after Lo’s new loss. Virtus looser in attack and Polonara also scores 14-21 at 2.24. Hall, 2/2 on free throws and a recovery, Bortolani attacking the rim brings Milan back into contact, Belinelli scores his eighth point in the quarter, Flaccadori scores from 3 to make it 21-23 at the end of the first quarter.
SECOND QUARTER
Virtus starts 4-0, with also Dunston’s long-range basket (who then scores 24-29), Bortolani finds the bomb, but Abass also scores as he approaches the rim (24-31 after 8′). Abass’s unsportsmanlike move has the flaw of waking up the red and whites, and Melli’s jumper makes it 31-31 at 6.26. THIRD FOURTH
Voigtmann opens the second half from 3 (51-44), Lo makes it 2/2 from the line (53-44), then the German hits a triple to make it 56-46 at 8.34. Cordinier and Dunston push the lead to -6, but it is Ricci who hooks it to make it 62-54 with 6 minutes left. Milan seems to have taken the inertia of the match into their own hands in the second half of the second quarter, and Maodo Lo with great luck also finds the triple to make it 65-55 with 4.17 to play. The German recovered and also took off for +12 after recovery, then Shields forced a 3 in vain and Belinelli did not forgive (67-58 at 3.15), and it was Beli himself who imposed the timeout with another bomb for 67- 61 at 2.32. Sprinted, Voigtmann misses from 3, Belinelli also, and shortly after he gets his fifth foul.
