Tennis Legend Chris Evert Announces Return of Ovarian Cancer: Determined to Beat It

Tennis legend and winner of eighteen Grand Slam titles Chris Evert announced the sad news. Her cancer returned again, but even now she feels determined to beat the insidious disease. She has even started chemotherapy and sent a very positive message to the world.

Chris Evert is one of the greatest legends in tennis history. In her time, she has won 18 Grand Slam tournaments, which ranks her in fifth place on the charts. She continues to play tennis long after her career and works as a television reporter. At the French Open, she even interviewed the players right on the court.

Now, according to her words, she will take a short break, because her ovarian cancer has returned. She first heard the harsh diagnosis two years ago in December, and half a year later announced that she was cured. At that time, it was expected that the insidious disease would not return thanks to early detection.

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Evert announced that she is dealing with cancer again. “Although I never wanted to hear this diagnosis, I am again lucky that it was caught in time,” she wrote in her letters.

Evert underwent surgery and began another round of chemotherapy. Cancer cells appeared in the same area of the pelvis as two years ago. Her sister Jeanne Evert died of the same disease in 2020.
