Talleres Women’s Soccer Team Defeated by Newell’s Old Boys in Reduced Final for Promotion

Within the framework of the Final of the Reduced for the Second Promotion, the Talleres women’s team was defeated 2 to 0 against Newell’s Old Boys, this Saturday at the La Boutique stadium in the Jardín neighborhood.

Feline Tokman, in the 26th minute, scored the first goal of the match for the visitors. With a great free throw execution, she achieved the advantage for the Rosario team.

At the end of the match, Damaris “la Peque” Sequeira finished the game with a great goal from outside the area, hitting the goalkeeper.

In this way, Newell’s won promotion by obtaining the Reduced and will accompany San Luis to the First Division.

There was a crowd that accompanied and encouraged the Matadoras, who had an enormous campaign.

“La T” had just beaten All Boys 5 to 1 in the Reduced Semifinals with goals from Oxandabarat (2), Fofré (2) and Capdevila.

Newell’s Old Boys, for its part, eliminated Sarmiento de Junín in the Semifinals. They won 3-0 with goals from Stefania Orrego, Camila Mansilla and Milagros Rivas.

The match

Talleres got off to a better start thanks to the drive of its people, despite the heat and wind that provided a spice to be taken into account for both teams. The Matadoras had the first two of the game before ten, with two centers that Oxandabarat took in the area and on two occasions could not score.

After that first local attack, Leprosy equalized the procedure by imposing rigor and playing directly.

Talleres was losing clarity after 10 minutes and Newell’s seemed better planted in the game. Without being superior, the emotional moment belonged to the visitor. And he knew how to capitalize on the dead ball. A perfectly executed free kick by Feline Tokman put Lepra ahead at the moment when they were beginning to dominate the match.

Talleres felt the blow and the visitor was able to extend the advantage after Bastus was unable to define when she was alone inside the area.

The result filled Newell’s with confidence and Talleres with doubts. The lines were separated from each other, there was no internal game and their forwards could no longer win individual duels to put the team ahead. People tried to lift up their players, while the PT was running out. At 38 Talleres was able to put together a collective play again and cross, but the rival goalkeeper had no problems containing the shot.

The final minutes of the first half showed Talleres taking the wrong paths to attack, with a lot of individual effort, such as a shot by Soriano from afar. La Lepra, without contributing much to the process, seemed comfortable and calm with the 1 to 0 in favor.

Miqueas Russo kept the same team for the complement, although without much change in the game. Soriano had the first clear shot of the stage with a free kick.

Newell’s took the game to what suited him, delaying each restart, cutting quickly and taking advantage of every second.

From the 15th minute onwards the game seemed to split, with Talleres going on the offensive and leaving a lot of space for Leprosy’s quick exits.

Oxandabarat’s free kick, from a place similar to Tokman’s goal, was close to scoring the tie. A rise by Hartivig, who arrived loosely in the area, could also have been 1 on 1, but the winger defined poorly.

Russo moved the bench and looked for alternatives to change the result, which injected energy for no ideas into a team that already looked desperate. Pianello had the equalizer but luck seemed not to be on the side of the Matadoras. And so came the second and final victory for the visitor, when Sequeira, above Rivarola, liquidated the shares. A hard blow for Talleres, who were at home at the gates of the first division.
