DAZN is one of the largest sports streaming services in the world. In order to cover the costs, prices were increased in Germany this year. Now the broadcaster is deciding on new restrictions. These were not announced.

The sports streaming service DAZN has initiated far-reaching changes for new customers. A spokesman confirmed this to the media magazine DWDL when asked.

This involves two fundamental innovations:

1. Anyone who takes out a DAZN subscription from now on can only follow the program on one stream. The streaming service has therefore taken away the previously valid option of playing streams on two devices in parallel with the highest-priced subscription (“Unlimited”). This meant you could share the subscription and watch at the same time. This has now been stopped.

2. The number of devices on which you can register with a subscription at the same time will also be halved. While this was previously possible on six devices, it is now only possible on three.

Existing customers are not affected for the time being

If you’ve been a DAZN customer for a long time, nothing will change at first. For existing customers, the number that was guaranteed to the respective customer when the contract was concluded and communicated in the General Terms and Conditions valid at the time and the order confirmation always applies.

The changes for new customers already apply. DAZN had not publicly informed about it. When asked by the tech magazine “Golem” when exactly the change was introduced, the answer was: “Unfortunately, we cannot give an exact date. For several months now, customers have been guaranteed a parallel stream and three registered devices when they sign a contract.”

DAZN holds, among other things, the rights to the Friday and Sunday games of the Bundesliga and many games from the Champions League. NFL and many darts tournaments are also broadcast. The broadcaster had already made headlines this summer after significantly increasing prices.
