SSF Bonn Judo Department Shines at Wesseling Tournament: Young Judoka Take Home Top Honors

The 89th participation of the SSF Bonn judo department in a tournament in 2023 was the responsibility of the young judoka in the U9, U11 and U13 age groups. Following an invitation from the Wesseling Judo Team, the very little ones were given their first entry into the competition in a cozy atmosphere and uncomplicated manner.

Judoka from 5 different clubs were able to demonstrate the skills they had already acquired. If at the end of the 2 minutes of fighting no judoka could gain an advantage, the little ones were given one last chance to win in the form of a “pulling competition”. Since it also happened that girls had to fight against boys, just like in training, but unusual at a tournament, the term “weaker” sex was often used absurdly. Ultimately, all participants were winners and were rewarded for their skills in the form of medals, certificates and of course a chocolate Santa Claus.

Our thanks go to Ines Tränkner and her helpers from the Wesseling judo team. We would be happy to take part in the successful event again next year.
