Sky Sports secured four of the five packages and will bring at least 215 Premier League matches per season into British living rooms. The fifth package with 52 matches is for TNT Sports. Match of the Day, the legendary BBC programme, will also bring highlights from all Premier League matches in the new contract.
According to the Premier League, this is the largest media deal in sports rights ever in the United Kingdom. The contract is valid from the 2025-2026 season until the end of the 2028-2029 season. The current contract (until 2025) would generate 5.8 billion euros over three years.
“We are delighted with our new contracts with Sky Sports and TNT Sports,” said Premier Executive Director Richard Masters. “Our partnership will be extended for another four years and from 2025-2026 there will be more Premier League matches live than ever before.”
