Quebec Football Player Makes History in NFL Draft, Olymel Plant Closure, and Tigers’ Disappointing Season

On April 28, Matthew Bergeron wrote a page in football history in Quebec when he was the second player to be drafted so early in the NFL.

The former Victoriaville Vicas product was drafted in the second round, 38th overall, by the Atlanta Falcons.

During the draft, the friendly footballer was with his friends, family and the media at the Victoriaville Golf Club.

Closure of Olymel plant in Vallée-Jonction | Concern in Princeville

In mid-April, Olymel closed its plant in Vallée-Jonction, which caused concern at that of Princeville.

The president of the Olymel Princeville union, Steve Houle, recognized that this closure had the effect of a bomb within the Princeville company regarding the future of the company.

Unfortunately their concerns were well-founded as on March 10, the Princeville factory closed its doors.

Tigers report | Have a good season. Disappointing series

During his press briefing on April 18, Tigers general manager Kevin Cloutier admitted to being disappointed with the rapid elimination in the playoffs.

The Félins were eliminated in five games against the Voltigeurs de Drummondville despite having obtained 25 more points in the general classification.

Cloutier, however, mentioned being satisfied with the fifth place where they finished.
