PSG: still no clearing for Kimpembe

In his race against time to find the field, Presnel Kimpembe fell behind. Victim of a ruptured Achilles tendon against Marseille (3-0, February 26), the Parisian defender hoped to play again before the end of the calendar year and very diligently followed an adapted program, even being part of the first occupants of the new PSG Campus with Nordi Mukiele, at the end of June.

But the time has come for caution despite a resumption of collective training on November 9 and even though he consulted surgeon James Calder last week, who operated on him. For the moment, “Presko” does not yet seem in a condition to return to high-intensity competition and has a very good chance of remaining out of the group for the three remaining matches against Dortmund, Wednesday, Lille (December 17) and Metz (20th).

Absent from the collective session last Friday, the club stated in its medical bulletin that the player was carrying out “tests with a view to his full integration into the team”. But according to RMC doubt about his presence during the January matches also exists. The 2018 world champion could continue his adapted program during the first weeks of 2024 in order to consolidate his return and eliminate doubts.
