The original plan was different: After Jan Hassenpflug resigned from his position as head coach in May for family reasons, Wild Farmer’s veteran and young coach Patico Fernandez Ruiz took over the management of the Dohren Bundesliga team for a limited period until the end of the 2023 season. Yesterday the club informed the social media that Fernandez Ruiz will continue to carry out his duties – to the delight of the Wild Farmers.
Under the leadership of Fernandez Ruiz, the team achieved the first Bundesliga playoff victory in the Dohren club’s history in the quarter-final game 2 against the Heideköpfe. But it didn’t stop there: In the hard-fought best-of-5 series, the Lower Saxony team was also the more successful team in game 4 and only had to admit defeat against the eventual German champions after five games.
