Outstanding Performance by Sinaloa Judo Athletes in First National Selective Tournament

CULIACÁN._ With the gold medal won by the sensational Ana Lucía Álvarez López, Sinaloa had an outstanding participation in the First National Selective Tournament towards the Junior Pan American Games, held in Oaxtepec, Morelos.

In the Under 15 -53 kilogram category, Ana Lucía Álvarez López took first place in the event as well as gold for Rubén Corona in the +64 kilogram category, who also achieved silver in the 73 kilogram category.

Romina Peñuelas won a bronze medal in the 64 kilograms, in addition to Yujar Pérez another bronze medal in the men’s 64 kilograms, and in the 70 kilograms Santiago Brambila also took bronze.

Professor Eduardo Rivera Medina, responsible for judo in Sinaloa, commented that these results are based on the effort and teamwork of methodology, psychologists and coaches so that athletes can go and represent Sinaloa in the best conditions.

He added that the work of Professor Jesús Brambila, who works in the municipality of Rosario, was also important in this event.

Now comes a short holiday break for the state’s high-performance judo boys, but the intensity of the work begins in January 2024.
