OM Looks to Downsize with Potential Player Exile in Saudi Arabia

OM will seek to downsize this winter, according to information relayed by the press this Saturday. One of the players mentioned at the start could even go into exile in Saudi Arabia.

If Marseille did not have a fantastic first part of the season, notably being only 6th in Ligue 1, the players of the Marseille club still maintain a certain rating on the transfer market. This is particularly the case of Iliman Ndiaye. Bought from Sheffield United last summer, the Senegalese, selected for the CAN, is being tracked in England by several teams, including his ex.

The Brazilian Luis Henrique, who is due to return to Marseille from a loan in his country this winter, is followed by Cruzeiro, Red Bull Bragantino and Atlético Mineiro.

England, main exit door

Despite everything, according to The Team, the management of Olympique de Marseille, led by the Spaniard Pablo Longoria, will listen to offers for five elements, including Luis Henrique. The other players for whom the exit door is open are Vitinha, Ismaïla Sarr, Pape Gueye and Azzedine Ounahi.

The Portuguese, recruited for a record sum (32M euros) last January, did not convince and would have leads in England. For Senegalese midfielder Pape Gueye, his contractual situation – end of contract next June – pushes him towards the exit if an extension does not occur. As for Ismaïla Sarr, who “hard to convince Gennaro Gattuso”the PL also extends its arms to him.

The Saudi temptation?

For Azzedine Ounahi, it is different, since the interested clubs are not in Europe. According to The Team, Saudi Arabia is trying to attract the Moroccan, already hoped for last summer. The media does not indicate whether the 23-year-old central midfielder will be more interested this winter than between July and August 2023. For OM, on the other hand, the situation seems different: a departure, which appeared unlikely six month, now seems possible, while the former Angevin disappoints sportingly – 17 appearances, 2 goals.

Answer in the coming weeks, while the Marseillais will compete in the CAN.
