Nicolás Larcamón’s Plans to Restructure León: New Signings and Departures

Nicolás Larcamón wants to disarm León.

According to information from Francisco Montes, a FOX Sports reporter, León and Cruzeiro are negotiating the signing of Argentine midfielder Lucas Romero, who would return to Brazil to play under the orders of his former coach in the emerald team.

The report indicates that both León and Cruzeiro are making significant progress in the operation for the footballer, who would arrive at the Brazilian squad in a definitive purchase.

Romero arrived in León in the second half of 2022. With the emerald team he already played 43 games, in addition to lifting the 2023 Concacaf Champions League, defeating LAFC in the Final.

As if that were not enough, Romero participated in the 2023 Club World Cup, playing the duel against Urawa Red Diamonds for the Quarterfinals, a phase where the emerald squad was eliminated

It is expected that in the coming days both León and Cruzeiro will advance in negotiations to close the signing of Romero. For now, La Fiera has already confirmed the signings of coach Jorge Bava and attacker Alan Medina, who played under Bava at Liverpool in Uruguay.

BORJA SÁNCHEZ, ON THE EXIT RAMP!

On the other hand, León is also negotiating the departure of Spanish midfielder Borja Sánchez, who would return to Real Oviedo in his country.

Sánchez arrived in León for the Apertura 2023, where he only played 10 duels dressed in emerald and scored a goal.

It is expected that, in this way, León will continue to shape the restructuring that it proposed after the departure of Nicolás Larcamón, so the project will have to take shape from scratch.

“In the same way, today we feel embarrassed by the way we are leaving the most important tournament in our history. Club León must recover its mystique, its identity, the vocation and the courage that has always characterized us,” León reported after its elimination in the Club World Cup.
