It is a matter of hours for Club Puebla to have a new coach. After the dismissal of Eduardo Arce for the start of the tournament without victories, everything is on track for Gerardo Espinoza to take over with La Franja in the Apertura 2023, stepping aside from the National Teams.

Responsible for the Tri Sub-23 team that won the gold medal in the most recent Central American and Caribbean Games, and with a successful past in the Expansion League on the bench, Gerardo Espinoza will have his first opportunity in the MX League.

With alleged differences with Andrés Lillini in the recent past in the National Team organization chart and with the firm intention of fulfilling his dream of leading in the First Division, the former soccer player is chosen by the Camoteros to help them reverse the bad step after five days .

With only one draw and four consecutive losses under the command of Arce, Puebla was probing other options, including Eduardo Fentanes, but they preferred to give the opportunity to someone “outsider” the usual circle of coaches in national soccer.

Gerardo Espinoza: Palmares

Identified with soccer concepts attached to Ricardo La Volpe, Gerardo Espinoza led Tapatío to become champion of the MX Expansion League in Clausura 2023 and, later, lift the 2023 Champion of Champions against Atlante.

That is not the only success that he boasts, because before reaching the Chivas subsidiary organization he had already been champion of the silver league in 2020 with Tampico Madero.
