Minnesota Vikings Defeat Las Vegas Raiders in Lowest-Scoring NFL Game in 16 Years

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Minnesota and Las Vegas played the NFL’s lowest-scoring game in 16 years, where the 36-yard field goal made by Greg Josephwith 1:57 left to play, gave the Vikings a 3-0 victory over the Raiders on Sunday.

It was the first 3-0 game since Pittsburgh’s victory over Miami on November 26, 2007, the third in the last 40 years, and the seventh in the Super Bowl era.

Joseph’s kick prevented the game from ending without points for the first time since the New York Giants they received the Detroit Lions in a 0-0 draw on November 7, 1943.

The Vikings (7-6) had just 230 yards, and the Raiders (5-8) — with their third straight loss — were limited to 201 yards and nine first downs. Minnesota beat an AFC West opponent for the first time this season after going 0-3.

Nick Mullens relieved the doubtful Joshua Dobbs at quarterback and led the Vikings to their only scoring possession. His 22-yard completion with Jordan Addison to the Raiders’ 20-yard line set up Joseph’s game-winning kick.

It was Minnesota’s first shutout since defeating the Packers 16-0 on Dec. 23, 2017, and Las Vegas’ first shutout loss since a 24-0 loss to New Orleans on Oct. 30, 2022.
