Manchester City Makes History as Club World Champions!

Manchester City are club world champions for the first time in the club’s history.

In the final in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the English defeated Fluminense from Brazil 4-0 in the absence of injured superstars Haaland and de Bruyne.

The South Americans’ hopes of an underdog victory are dashed early on. After just 40 seconds, Julian Alvarez made it 1-0 for the Champions League title holders.

As a result, the “Skyblues” also dominate the game. In the 28th minute, Ake Foden tried to serve, but the ball didn’t find the Englishman but Fluminense player Nino, who put the ball into his own goal to make it 2-0 for Manchester City.

Koller holt Bronze

The score then goes into the dressing rooms. In the second half it was Phil Foden who took the comfortable 3-0 lead in the 72nd minute after Alvarez’s preparatory work. Shortly before the end, Alvarez made the final decision with his second goal and the 4-0 (88th).

In the end, it remains a confident success, and so the English champions are also celebrating the Club World Cup after the Champions League.

In the game for third place, the Al Ahly team from Egypt, trained by ex-ÖFB team boss Marcel Koller, secured bronze. The Urawa Red Diamonds are defeated 4-2.
