While shooting lying down, 39-year-old Gints Lusis missed two targets, but three mistakes followed in standing shooting. Skiing five penalty laps, he ranked 95th among 103 biathletes who finished.
Only three Turks, two Bosnians, one athlete each from Greece, Denmark and Brazil remained behind Luš.
The winner was the 29-year-old German Philipp Horn, who completed the firing lines without mistakes. The lynx lost to him in 6:27 minutes.
Lusis returned to the circuit last season, having previously missed 15 seasons of international biathlon.
