Klosterneuburg’s Judo Triumph: Success in Bergercup and Student League

The Klosterneuburg youth judonists can look back on a successful time. You can look forward to numerous victories in both the Bergercup and the student league. Exceptional talent Helene Schrattenholzer can also be happy about her first honor.

Final round of the Berger Junior Cup

The Judo Union Klosterneuburg won the overall team ranking of the Bergercup 2023 with a 25 percent point lead over second place. “We have been the best young judo club in Lower Austria in this prestigious competition since 2013,” says Robert Haas happily. With a total of seven gold, six silver and eight bronze medals in this last round alone, you can be truly proud of yourself.

Lower Austrian Student League 2023

This year too, the Judo Union Klosterneuburg was represented with two teams in the Lower Austrian Student Team League. Since they had already won this new tournament series the previous year, they entered the competition as defending champions. The league extends over the entire calendar year and finally culminates on Thursday, November 26th with the final battles in Stockerau. The mode in which the final was carried out meant that theoretically every team in the table could still win the group. That made this competition, and especially the last day of the final, exciting until the end.

At the end of the day, the Klosterneuburg Krokodile team took second place in the second group of the student league. The defending champions Klosterneuburg HULK won in an exciting final against the competition community from the Amstetten area. So the new and old Lower Austrian Shinzen Shiai student league champion of the top class is called Klosterneuburg Hulk. “Congratulations to the entire team and a big thank you to the parents and families who supported us,” writes Robert Haas.

Honor for Helene Schrattenholzer

The youth Olympic gold medalist and national slam winner Helene Schrattenholzer had the great honor of giving her first autograph session together with the Olympic silver medalist, multiple World Cup medalist, Lower Austrian judo figurehead Michaela Polleres, as part of the Berger Young Talent Cup. Afterwards, Helene was also awarded the Bronze Medal of Merit by the NÖJV. Robert Haas congratulates Schrattenholzer.
